Any individual interested in becoming a substitute teacher for the Hardin Jefferson
Independent School District is required to have a completed application on file
PRIOR to the district's substitute teacher orientation
.
A completed application includes:
• Employment application for substitute teacher
• Verification of Education (official copy of a public high school transcript or college
   transcript)
• DPS CCH Verification Form
• Criminal History Record Information Form (CHRI)
• W-4 form
• Employment Eligibility Form or I-9 (including a copy of your social security card and
   driver's license)
• Acceptable User Policy Agreement (AUP)


ALL SUBSTITUTE APPLICANTS MUST BE FINGERPRINTED
• The fingerprinting process will be initiated once your application is received. Each     

   substitute is responsible for the cost of fingerprinting which is $50.20, this will be paid 

   at the time of printing. .

 

Qualifications
A substitute applicant must be 21 years of age and have one of the following:
• Certified Teacher: College degree with a valid Teaching Certificate
• Degreed: College degree only, no teaching certification
• Non-Degreed: Must have a minimum of a high school diploma
   or a GED

 

Substitute Pay rates:
Non-degreed $75.00 per day
Degreed $80.00 per day
Certified $90.00 per day
